PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide coated paper for printing, improved in a yield of a filler in case of papermaking, especially scarcely forming a blister or a powder of the paper, in case of offset printing, having high opacity and low non-strike through properties, and excellent in printing quality. SOLUTION: This coated paper for printing is obtained by applying a coated layer containing a pigment and an adhesive to base paper containing a preliminary flocculating filler in an amount of a solid content of 3-40 wt.% as an ash content in the paper, wherein the preliminary flocculating filler is given by using calcium carbonate as the filler and cationized starch as a flocculating agent and adjusting a ratio of the calcium carbonate to the cationized starch and has an average particle diameter of 5-130μm according to laser diffractometry. A cationic demand of paper stock to which the preliminary flocculating filler is added is preferably not less than 0μeq/l. COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
