PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a silica-compounded rubber composition for tread, having a low electric resistance, and also having low rolling resistance, abrasion resistance and good wet properties in good balance. SOLUTION: The method for producing the rubber composition for the tread, obtained by compounding 40-90 pts.wt. silica and 5-40 pts.wt. adipic acid diester with 100 pts.wt. diene rubber comprises previously kneading the silica with the adipic acid diester, and further kneading the resultant mixture with other components.
