PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a coated seed enabling the coated layer to be rapidly broken when the coated layer is brought into contact with water by water supply such as watering. SOLUTION: The coated seed is obtained by covering and granulating the seeds having particle diameters in the level of≤1,500μm by using a powder having≤5.0 wet weight% of the equilibrium water content in 100% relative humidity and 0.60-0.80 g/cm<SP>3</SP>temporary specific gravity, and a water-soluble binder prepared so as to have 0.5-15 cps viscosity range.
