Provided are a method for preparing an electrode to inhibit the deterioration of a battery performance in case of charge/discharge and to improve overcharge characteristics, its apparatus, and a battery using the electrode prepared by the method. The method comprises the steps of coating a plurality of active material slurries comprising different kind of active materials and a binder component in turns on the surface of a current collector(1) to form a plurality of active material layers(2,3) on the surface; and drying the total active material slurries to prepare an electrode. Preferably the true density of the active material contained in the active material slurry decreases from the current collector in turn. Preferably the electrode is a positive electrode.
