An apparatus and a method for controlling engine oil supply of a gas engine are provided to prevent abnormality of oil system control caused due to the variation of viscosity of engine oil in case of low temperature start. An apparatus for controlling engine oil supply of a gas engine(10), comprises an outdoor air temperature sensing unit(40) for sensing the ambient air temperature of the gas engine, and transmitting a temperature sensed signal; a timer(50) for starting counting of time in case of low temperature start of the gas engine, and transmitting the counted time; and a control unit(60) for maintaining an engine oil amount of a sub oil pan(30) at a constant level by receiving on/off signals of a low level switch(31) and a high level switch(32) and controlling on/off operation of an oil valve(25) interposed between an oil tank(20) and the sub oil pan. The control unit permits the timer to count engine operating time if the gas engine starts under the low temperature condition, controls on/off operation of the oil valve in accordance with the signals transmitted from the low level switch and the high level switch from the point of time where the temperature of the engine oil is raised after elapse of preset engine operating time, and permits the time to complete the counting.
