An antenna having a feeder of a quarter wavelength is provided to reduce a volume of the antenna by forming two slits on a side of a feeder shield to eliminate a resonance case. An antenna includes a cylindrical dielectric core(110) and a feeder inserted in a passage formed in the core. Radial antenna devices(115A-115D) are formed on an upper surface(110a) of the core and are extended in a longitudinal direction. Antenna device extension units(115A(L),115B(S)) are formed on an outer surface of the core, connected to each antenna device and are extended in a longitudinal direction. A feeder conductor(125), an insulation sheath(123) enclosing the feeder conductor, and a feeder shield(120) are accommodated in the passage of the core. Two slits(121a,121b) are formed on opposite surfaces of the feeder shield.
