<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light emitting device which enables light emission of high light output of less emission irregularities. <P>SOLUTION: The device has a container; a light emission chip (1) with a polygonal top surface which is disposed inside the container and has an SiC substrate; an electrode pad (5) which is provided to the top surface of the light emission chip (1); a lead electrode (7) which is provided to the bottom surface of the container; a conductive wire (6) which is provided through the upper corner of the top surface of the light emission chip (1) along a side (4a) defining a side surface of the light emission chip (1) in a longitudinal direction, and connects the electrode pad (5) and the lead electrode (7); and a phosphor layer which seals the light emission chip (1) and is formed of phosphor dispersed to a light transparent member. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
