PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To recover liquid of good flowability such as almost only carrier liquid by a carrier liquid recovering member on a photoreceptor, to carry away toner particles trapped in a recovering part by the recovered liquid so that the toner particles may not be accumulated. SOLUTION: In stopping a printing operation, a printing operation is carried out while making the bias of a developer supply member 4 differ from the bias of a developing roller 8, and a sequence of collecting the carrier liquid by a photoreceptor carrier liquid recovering part 21 is carried out, thereafter, the printing operation is stopped.
