PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a single crystal driving device for a high-efficiency gas discharge lamp. SOLUTION: This driving device includes: a high-voltage DC power supply system; a power control circuit; a frequency converter circuit; and an ignition steady-state flow circuit. The high-voltage DC power supply system converts a power supply from an external source to high-voltage DC power, and the power control circuit converts the high-voltage DC power to low-voltage and high-frequency power. The frequency converter circuit controls a single power crystal using a frequency control IC capable of independently setting a working frequency, thereby converting the high-frequency power to low frequency power and driving the ignition steady-state flow circuit.
