PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a linear waste material sorting apparatus capable of accurately sorting/recovering a linear waste material mixed with a copper wire of an easily intertwined shape or the like. SOLUTION: The linear waste material sorting apparatus has a sorting tank 5 provided with a partition net for vertically partitioning the inside of the tank and sorting the mixed waste material thrown to an upper side of the partition net 14 by difference of specific gravity; a vertical pulsing means 6 provided with a gas chamber 61 for vertically pulsing a liquid in the sorting tank 5; and a linear waste material separation layer 15 in which spherical substances 15a, i.e., a plurality of spherical substances 15a having a specific gravity smaller than that of the linear waste material, i.e., an object to be sorted of the mixed waste material and larger than that of the other remaining waste material in which weight and shape of the respective spherical substances 15a are formed in approximately the same level are spread all over the partition net 14.
