PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an erroneous transmission prevention adapter for a facsimile machine and a method thereof by which an opposite side dial number can be checked double to prevent erroneous transmission to an unknown third person, namely, information leakage to the outside can be eliminated. SOLUTION: When a user utilizes a facsimile machine for dial transmission, dials of the facsimile machine are pressed, opposite side number data are then read and collated again and when a collation result shows a difference, transmission from the facsimile machine is stopped.
