PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an FC-AL system for which the usability of the system is improved by making the device of a fault section accessible without bypassing it, a command issuing method of the FC-AL system, and a data storage device applicable to the FC-AL system. SOLUTION: A host device 10 transmits a command on the basis of a rule determining the combination of an FC-AL loop for transmitting the command and an FC-AL loop to which the magnetic disk devices 11-14 of the command transmission destination are to transmit a response to the command (S101). In the case that the response can not be received from the magnetic disk device of the transmission destination of the command, the host device 10 changes the combination of the FC-AL loop for transmitting the command and the FC-AL loop to transmit the response and retransmits the command (steps S103 and S105).
