PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light source device and a light irradiation device capable of preventing laser beams from leaking in a simple system. SOLUTION: In the light source device 10 and the light irradiation device 30, a closed loop is formed of an electric cable 32 in the light source device, two electric cables 13a, 13b in an optical fiber cord 12 for connecting the light source device 10 and a processing optical part 31, and the electric cable 32 in the processing optical part. When the optical fiber cord 12 is detached from the light source device 10 or the processing optical part 31, electric cables 13a, 13b, 16, 32 are disconnected. For this reason, when an optical fiber 14 is detached, a detection can be easily made from a conductive state of the electric cables 13a, 13b, 16, 32, and it is possible to prevent laser beams from leaking due to detachment of the optical fiber 14 and to ensure the safety.
