PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of manufacturing a display device capable of improving display performance and having a good yield of manufacture. SOLUTION: The method includes a step of forming a first electrode 60 of independent island shape in each pixel in a display area on a substrate, a step of forming an insulating film so as to cover the first electrode 60, a step of forming a barrier rib 70 which separates each pixel on the insulating film, a step of forming a ground part 80 by removing the insulating film exposed from the barrier rib, a step of forming a photo-active layer 64 on the first electrode 60 of each pixel, and a step of forming a second electrode 66 common to all pixels on the photo-active layer 64.
