PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent uniformity correction for photographic printing from being affected by printing on the back of printing paper when images are read. SOLUTION: Test pattern images of uniformity correction are formed on a plurality sheets of printing paper through the exposure of the sheets of printing paper by an exposure unit. In addition, using a printing head, printing is carried out on each of the sheets of printing paper, on the side opposite to the side subjected to the image formation. At this point, non-printing zones where printing is not carried out are defined on each sheet of the printing paper, and a zone in which the non-printing zones overlap includes an exposure zone. Further, the formation of the test pattern images and printing on the back are performed so that each of exposure elements arrayed on the light emission face of an exposure unit may form a dot at least in one of the non-printing zones.
