PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To providing a structure of an outdoor unit for improving efficiency of an air conditioner even though it is compact. SOLUTION: The air conditioner has a horizontal compressor 16, a heat exchanger 12 in a u-shape which is approximately fully structured in a height direction of the outdoor unit and a fan 13 provided at inside of a folding part of the heat exchanger 12. As the horizontal compressor 16 is provided at a front part in an area formed by the heat exchanger 12 and the fan 13 beneath the outdoor unit, the fan 13 can be made as large as possible, air flow can be secured and the efficiency of the air conditioner becomes high with the compact outdoor unit.
