PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To eliminate rotational backlash of a fixed type constant velocity universal joint. SOLUTION: The fixed type constant velocity universal joint comprises an outer ring 1 having a spherical inner surface 1b formed with a plurality of track grooves 1a; an inner ring 2 having a spherical outer surface 2b formed with a plurality of track grooves 2a; ball tracks of wedge shape formed by pairs of the track grooves 1a of the outer ring 1 and the track grooves 2a of the inner ring 2 and gradually reduced from one side to the other side of an axis of the joint; torque transmission balls 3 each built in each ball track; and a cage 4 having pockets 4a for holding the torque transmission balls 3.
