PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hydraulic drive mechanism having improved mass-productivity and simultaneous multitype productivity. SOLUTION: The hydraulic drive mechanism comprises an engine 1, a pump unit 100, a plurality of actuators 5a, 5b, 5c, a control valve unit 4, and an engine speed detecting means 4f. The pump unit 100 has a load sensing controlled pump tilting control mechanism 8. The control valve unit 4 has a plurality of flow control valves 15a, 15b, 15c and pressure compensating valves 10a, 10b, 10c. The engine speed detecting means 4f has a first differential pressure reducing valve 14 for outputting pressure depending on an engine speed as absolute pressure. The engine speed detecting means 4f is formed as part of the control valve unit 4. The output pressure of the first differential pressure reducing valve 14 is guided as target load sensing differential pressure via a pipe 127 to the pump tilting mechanism 8 of the pump unit 100.
