PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a crosshead two-stroke internal combustion engine wherein a lubricating oil can be discharged by an oil pan fitted on the lower side of a head plate and rigidity and weight are reduced. SOLUTION: This crosshead two-stroke internal combustion engine comprises the oil pan installed under the head plate. The oil pan comprises at least one discharge hole for discharging a lubricating oil from the oil pan to a lubricating oil tank while the engine is operating. The oil pan comprises a flat bottom part having a wall thickness t smaller than a value obtained by dividing a cylinder bore B by 55.
