PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tapered blade end mill which can accurately form the tapered bore even for a special steel, and a tapered bore forming method using it. SOLUTION: The tapered blade end mill 1 has a gradually decreased tapered cutting part 3 at a constant tapered angleθa with respect to the rotating central axis line 1a at the tip end side of a shank 2. Two peripheral cutting edges 7 are formed with a predetermined torsion angleθb on this cutting part 3. An end cutting edge 8 is constituted with a constant tip end angleθd at the tip end part of the cutting part 3. The tapered angleθa of the cutting part 3 is set to be in the range from 0°15' to 10°, the torsion angleθb of the peripheral cutting edge 7 is set to be in the range from 5°to 15°, and the tip end angleθd of the end cutting edge 8 is set to be in the range from 100°to 130°. The cutting part 3 is entered rotating the tapered blade end mill 1 around the axis line for a workpiece made of the special steel. COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
