The apparatus has a folding flap cylinder (9) and a folding blade carrier (19) that comprises an axis of rotation and carries folding blades. The cylinder is provided for inserting a printed product in one of a set of folding flaps (11) and a gap is provided between the cylinder and the carrier. The folding blade carrier rotates with an angular speed around its rotational axis, where the speed is equal to angular speed of the cylinder. An independent claim is also included for a double transverse folding apparatus with a product guide.
