The system includes a set of airbags formed with different forms, resistances and materials, and lodged and anchored in housings provided in the front, lateral and rear structures of a vehicle. The airbags are interconnected to an inflator for expanding the airbags, and to an electronic drive and control system. The electronic drive and control system includes sensors for detecting proximity, distance, approach speed, and approach trajectory between the vehicle and an obstacle. The electronic drive and control system initiates braking operation based on the sensor outputs.
