A method and an apparatus for selectively recording an advertisement image are provided to record only a broadcasting program except for an advertisement part by storing image frame information corresponding to the advertisement part as bookmark information when a broadcasting program is recorded, comparing a recorded program image with the bookmark information after the record of the broadcasting program is ended, and deleting only the advertisement part. When a broadcasting program is recorded, a control unit compares a current video frame with a previous video frame stored in a buffer. The control unit stores frame video information with different frame change widths according to the compared result. After recording is ended, the control unit displays the frame video information as a bookmark type(S302). The control unit designates a deleted object among a plurality of frame video information(S304). The control unit deletes video corresponding to the frame video information of the deleted object from the broadcasting program, and reconfigures the broadcasting program(S306,S310).
