SPEEDOMETER AND MOTOR VEHICLE ARRANGEMENT

A speedometer and a vehicle having the same is provided to apply the speedometer for all kinds of vehicles by the operation of a selector choosing one of four options. A speedometer(20) installed in a vehicle includes a function storage device(22) storing four transform functions; a selector(21) for providing four options correspondent to each transform function of the function storage device; and a microprocessor(23) for calculating a pulse signal sent by a sensor device(13) of the vehicle to obtain the computed total value, selecting the transform function correspondent to the option selected by the selector, from the function storage device according to the number of poles(12) installed on a driving shaft(11) of the vehicle, and then inputting the computed total value to the correspondent transform function to calculate a speed value of the vehicle.
