Provided is a method for preparing styrene, which prevents loss of latent heat and additionally collects waste heat, and thus saves energy and improves an operation efficiency of an azeotropic evaporator. The method for preparing styrene consists of carrying out catalytic dehydrogenation of ethylbenzene in the presence of steam in a dehydrogenation reactor to prepare styrene, forming an azeotropic point of unreacted ethylbenzene and water in an azeotropic evaporator to distill out unreacted ethylbenzene at lower temperature, and putting the unreacted ethylbenzene into the dehydrogenation reactor. The reaction mixture discharged from the azeotropic evaporator is introduced into a heat exchanger placed at the rear of the azeotropic evaporator. In the heat exchanger, the reaction mixture is heat-exchanged with ethylbenzene to be charged into the dehydrogenation reactor. |
