摘要 A terrestrial DMB(Digital Multimedia Broadcasting) transmitting/receiving system for performing equalizing according to a genre and a method therefor are provided to embody an equalizer suitable for various audio data according to a music genre by selecting an equalizer coefficient from a coefficient table stored in a receiving unit by using a transmitted parameter. An audio encoder(11) encodes audio data. A packet multiplexer(12) packetizes data. An MSC(Main Service Channel) multiplexer(14) performs the MSC multiplexing of audio data and packet data of an MSC symbol. An FIC(Fast Information Channel) generator(15) codes an equalizer coefficient index by a predetermined coefficient table according to a music genre of the audio data, generates a bit string, loads the equalizer coefficient index indicating the music genre in a certain region of an FIC frame, and generates an FIC symbol. A transmission multiplexer(16) multiplexes the MSC multiplexing data, the FIC symbol, and an SC(Synchronous Channel), and provides a DMB ensemble signal. An OFDM(Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing) modulator(17) performs the OFDM modulation of the DMB ensemble signal. A transmitter(18) up-converts the OFDM-modulated signal into an RF(Radio Frequency) band signal, and transmits the RF band signal as a terrestrial DMB channel through an antenna(19).
