FIELD: method for decreasing rank estimate of channel in wireless communication system. ^ SUBSTANCE: method and device for decreasing rank estimate of channel use a set of transmitting antennas. Covariance matrix, representing line with transmitter, is computed 44 and analyzed 46 to determine whether its rank can be decreased. If not, all parameters 50 are used, if yes, then for computations matrix with decreased rank 54 is used. ^ EFFECT: simplified estimating computations due to usage of excessive (a priori) knowledge about the system. ^ 4 cl, 8 dwg
