FIELD: cocatalysts for heat treatment of atmosphere and methods of their use and introduction. ^ SUBSTANCE: proposed method of introduction of cocatalyst into atmosphere for chemical-thermal treatment of metallic material in atmosphere consists in heating and saturation of metallic material in atmosphere in presence of cocatalyst. Cocatalyst is subjected to diffusion in atmosphere of chemical-thermal treatment in gaseous or finely-dispersed phase; cocatalyst releases active agent; cocatalyst is selected from the following group: halogenous compound, 0.1-4 weight-%; metallic compound, 0.0003-0.03 weight-%; nitric compound, 1-10 weight-% relative to volume of atmosphere of chemical-thermal treatment or relative to volume of material of atmosphere of chemical-thermal treatment or any combination of these compounds. ^ EFFECT: obtaining of cocatalyst not subjected to wear, intoxication and carbon-black formation; increased rate of saturation of articles; low working temperature. ^ 5 cl, 4 dwg, 1 tbl, 82 ex
