A sound mode transfer method in a mobile terminal is provided to suitably establish the volume of a mobile terminal according to a user's circumstances by transferring to a desired sound mode at one button input. The MPU(Microprocessor Unit) of a mobile terminal checks whether the user of the mobile terminal inputs a button for sound mode setup(202). If the user's input for the button is detected, the MPU displays a list of sound modes, including a manner mode, a mute mode, and an outdoor mode, stored in a flash ROM(204). Then the MPU checks whether the selects a specific mode(206). In case that a specific mode among the displayed sound mode list is selected, the MPU displays the setup state of the selected sound mode on the LCD screen(208-216).
