Disclosed is desmethylsertaline (norsertraline) in the trans configuration as shown in formulae P and Q and the use of the compound in the manufacture of a medicament for treating a CNS disorder and the prophylaxis of a migraine. Also disclosed is the use in combination with an anti-psychotic for the manufacture of a medicament for the treatment of psychosis and methods and intermediates for making compounds of formulae P and Q.
