An audio reproduction speed control device and a method thereof are provided to control reproduction speed of an audio through decimation and interpolation in a frequency domain according to fast reproduction speed and slow reproduction speed modes, thus a complex operation is not necessary, consequently the amount of calculation is reduced. An FFT(Fast Fourier Transform) unit(210) performs an FFT process for audio data of N inputted samples, and converts the audio data into audio sample values of a frequency domain. A decimation unit(220) decimates the converted audio sample values from the frequency domain in case of a fast reproduction speed mode. An interpolation unit interpolates the converted audio sample values in the frequency domain in case of a slow reproduction speed mode. An IFFT(Inverse FFT) unit(230) performs an IFFT process for the decimated or interpolated audio sample values, and restores the IFFT-performed audio sample values to audio signals of a time domain.
