A magnetron cooling apparatus of an electrodeless lighting system is provided to improve cooling efficiency with respect to a magnetron by tightly contacting the magnetron to a heat sink block. A magnetron(10) is comprised of a main frame unit(11), an input unit(12), and an output unit(13). The main frame unit has a cathode and an anode to generate electromagnetic wave. The input unit is formed on a side of the main frame unit to receive power from a power supplier. The output unit supplies the electromagnetic wave generated in the main frame unit into a resonator through a waveguide. A magnetron accommodation unit(21) is formed to accommodate the magnetron. The magnetron is inserted into the magnetron accommodation unit. A contact inclined surface is formed in an inner surface of a heat release cover(30). A heat sink block(20) is contacted to a circumference of the main frame unit of the magnetron. The heat sink block transfers the heat generated in the magnetron to the heat release cover by forming a contact inclined surface to be put on the contact inclined surface of the heat release cover.
