A method for correcting a frequency error of a traffic channel of a mobile terminal is provided to allow a GSM(Global System for Mobile Communication) terminal in wireless communication to satisfy a GSM Reception Gap Specification without correcting the hardware of the terminal, and to reduce development costs of the GSM terminal. While a GSM terminal is in call communication, it is checked whether an SNR(Signal-to-Noise Ratio) exceeds a threshold value(S21,S22). A frequency error compensation value is calculated by using an LQG(Linear Quadratic Gaussian) prediction algorithm(S23). The calculated frequency error compensation value is corrected by using previously calculated temperature compensation value and board area compensation value(S24). An AFC(Automatic Frequency Control) value is corrected by using the corrected frequency error compensation value(S25) and a frequency error compensated(S26).
