<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an occupant restraint system for a vehicle capable of preventing interference with a front car body side structural part or reducing degree of interference by raising thigh parts of a rear seat passenger to bend knee parts upward when a rear collision occurs. <P>SOLUTION: A thigh part air bag 2 is provided to raise thigh parts Mt of a rear seat passenger M upward when a rear collision is detected or estimated, and a back air bag 3 is provided to be moved in a direction for retreating the rear seat passenger M from impact force of the rear collision. The thigh part air bag 2 is expanded before expanding the back air bag 3 to raise the thigh parts Mt of the rear seat passenger M to bend the knee parts Mn upward when the rear collision is detected or estimated, and a space S between the knee parts Mn and a front seat 12 is formed large to prevent interference with the front seat 12 or to reduce degree of interference. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
