PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a connection control system which can prevent information leakage resulting from remote maintenance of an operation system, and to provide a connection control method. SOLUTION: The connection control system 10 carries out control for an occasion on which the operation system 40 is connected to an operator terminal device 60 arranged in a maintenance maker, via external network connection equipment 30, in order to perform the remote maintenance of the operation system 40. The external network connecting equipment 30 is set in a connection equipment setting box 20 having an electronic lock 21 attached thereto, and formed of a manual switch 31 for a power source of the external network connecting equipment 30, a communication line connector 32 for manually connecting a communication line to the external network connecting equipment 30, and a switch 33 for the power source of the external network connecting equipment 30. The connection control system 10 is comprised of an electromagnetic lock/switch control section for controlling releasing/setting of the electronic lock 21, and operating connection/disconnection of the switch 33.
