摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To dispense with a coil for detecting rotation, and to rotate a two-phase stepping motor at a high speed, while reducing the power consumption. SOLUTION: The rotation detector of a two-phase stepping motor, consisting of a rotor magnetized with two poles and a stator having a two-phase coil wound around a yoke, comprises a drive means having a magnetic circuit arranged, such that the yoke is substantially saturated in a state with the flux concentrating most and supplying a drive pulse to each of the two phases, a current detection means for detecting the drive current of each of the two phases, when the drive pulse is supplied to the coil from the drive means, and a control means for determining the rotation state of the rotor, based on the detected value of the drive current and controlling the rotation state of the rotor, based on the results of the determination.
