<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a reciprocating compressor sufficiently recovering an oil contained in a refrigerant gas recirculated from the low pressure part of an external refrigerating circuit to the reciprocating compressor in a crankcase. <P>SOLUTION: This reciprocating compressor comprises a housing in which a discharge chamber, a suction chamber, and a plurality of cylinder bores in which pistons are inserted are demarcated, a drive shaft extending across the crankcase and rotatably supported by the housing through the bearing member, and a motion conversion mechanism disposed in the crankcase for converting the rotating motion of the drive shaft into the reciprocating motion of the piston. The refrigerant gas sucked from the suction chamber into the cylinder bores by the reciprocating motion of the piston is compressed and discharged to the discharge chamber. A suction port connected to the low pressure part of the external refrigerating circuit is formed at the portion of the housing where the crankcase is formed. A first refrigerant gas suction passage including a communication passage formed in the drive shaft is formed between the crankcase and the suction chamber. The refrigerant gas is sucked from the low pressure part of the external refrigerating circuit into the crankcase through the suction port, and flows from the crankcase into the suction chamber through the first suction passage. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT</p> |
