PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an information storage medium which can further facilitate file management, its information recording method and device, and a reproducing device. SOLUTION: A video object can be divided into a plurality of extents for arrangement, and a video object unit (VOBU) is composed of one or more group-of-pictures (GOP). The reproducing time of the VOBU is set to 0.4 sec or more, and information is partly erased by a unit of VOBU. The information on a file system includes a file entry (FE) wherein the recording position of a video file is described, and the FE includes an allocation descriptor (AD). The AD has length information and the position information of the extents, allowing a non-recorded area to exist in the extents.
