PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a disk device having high system stability by determining whether recording data cannot be recorded or reproduced due to influence of external disturbance or due to the other influence, to perform effective processing. SOLUTION: When the focusing, the tracking, or the like of an optical head is disturbed, it is determined by the output of an external disturbance detection means whether the recording or reproducing is not performed normally for a disk is caused by the external disturbance such as vibration and impact, or the defect such as a flaw in the disk recording medium, and the operation according to the result is performed.
