PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a reproducing device and a reproducing method capable of arbitrarily changing an output scheme of data to be reproduced on the basis of the attributes of data to be reproduced. SOLUTION: The video data are stored in a file in a video title set (VTS) 72 of an optical disk 10. Video title set information (VTSI) 94 for managing the video title set (VTS) 72 is written in this video title set (VTS) 72. The video title set information (VTSI) 94 is provided with a table (VTSI-MAT) 98 for managing the video title set information 94. The attributes peculiar to the video data (VTS-V-ATR) stored in the title set (VTS) 72 are written in this table (VTSI-MAT) 98.
