PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a color management system capable of using a profile even in the case that the number of data bits differs between the system and the profile. SOLUTION: When the profile received by a profile reception section 17 is not adaptive to a color conversion section 12, a profile processing section 15 processes the profile. (1) When the form is different, the profile adaptive to the form is created through approximation processing. (2) When the number of grating points differs, the adaptive profile is created through interleaving/padding processing of the number of grating points. (3) When the number of bits differs, the profile adaptive to the number of bits is created through expansion/contraction processing of data bits.
