PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce noise due to discharge pulsation without increasing the sizes of a hermetic container and a discharge muffling chamber by dividing the discharge muffling chamber of a rotary compressor by using a partition plate. SOLUTION: This compressor comprises a drive element in the hermetic container 12, a rotating compression element driven by a rotating shaft 16 connected to the drive element, a support member 54 closing the opening part of a cylinder forming the rotating compression element and having a bearing for the rotating shaft 16, and the discharge muffling chamber formed on the support member 54 by a cover 63 on the opposite side of the cylinder. The discharge muffling chamber formed by press-fitting the bearing bearing peripheral outer peripheral part 54A of the upper support member 54 and the cover 63 is divided through the partition plate 65 and discharge muffling chambers 62A, 62B thus formed are communicated with each other. Consequently, noise due to discharge pulsation can be reduced without increasing the sizes of the hermetic container 12 and the discharge muffling chamber. COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
