PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve a specified purpose by eliminating the need of prior search such as sounding test in a foundation improving method in intermediate and shallow layer zones. SOLUTION: In this method for controlling the bottoming of a foundation-improved layer against a supporting ground while the ground is improved by driving a mixing and agitating head 5 with a hydraulically driven agitating blade in the ground, when a hydraulic motor reaches a predetermined load resistance value or higher, a hydraulic relief pressure is set so that the agitating blade can be stopped. A processing is performed so that the flow value of a soil to be treated comes within the range of a pre-determined controlled flow value. The mixing and agitating head 5 is driven at a proper driving speed of 1 m/min or slower, and when the hydraulic pressure is released, the bottom ground part of the foundation-improved layer G is considered to bottom the support ground Bt.
