PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new silicon compound capable of efficiently imparting a solid surface with characteristics of a fluorine-containing organic group such as water repellency, oil repellency, chemical resistance, slipperiness, non-tacking property and abrasion resistance. SOLUTION: The silicon compound is a silsesquioxane derivative having a fluorine-containing organic group and an alkoxysilyl group and expressed by formula (1) (A is a group having an alkoxysilyl group; R<SP>1</SP>is a group selected independently from 1-40C alkyl, aryl and arylalkyl provided that at least one hydrogen atom is substituted with fluorine atom).
