PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a seat sliding device preventing an article from being caught between a rail and a sliding means traveling along the rail. SOLUTION: In the seat sliding device 11, the sliding means 37 coupling a seat body is slidably attached to the groove-shaped rail 36, and front and back protectors 64, 67 having shapes along an inner surface shape of a cross section orthogonal to a longitudinal direction of the rail 36 are disposed at a front portion 62 and a rear portion 67 of the sliding means 37. While an article such as trash or pen enter from an opening portion 52 opened on the rail 36, if the seat body is moved forward by the sliding means 37, the dropped article such as a pen can be moved forward by the front protector 64, and involvement of the dropped article can be prevented.
