PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a drum type washing machine capable of improving detergency while suppressing the manufacturing cost low and reducing the uneven washing by returning wash water in an outer tub into a rotating drum without using a circulation pump or the like. SOLUTION: This drum type washing machine is provided with: a casing 1; the bottomed cylindrical outer tub 6 incorporated in the casing 1 and having a first opening part 3a for loading/unloading clothes; and the bottomed cylindrical rotating drum 5 rotatably incorporated in the outer tub 6, having a second opening part 5a opened corresponding to the first opening part 3a, and having the rotation axis in the horizontal direction or in the direction inclined from the horizontal direction. The outer tub 6 is provided with a water intake port 20 allowing the entering of the wash water rotating inside the outer tub 6 with the rotation of the rotating drum 5, circulation channels 22, 26, 27 and 28 having one ends communicated with the water intake port 20, and an outlet 32 communicated with the other ends of the circulation channels 22, 26, 27 and 28 and discharging the wash water into the rotating drum 5.
