PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a Tatami rim-sewing apparatus for facilitating the positioning of an inclined cutting blade without requiring complicated calculation and without using a scale, when the thickness of a Tatami bed is changed. SOLUTION: In the Tatami rim-sewing apparatus 1, a sewing machine body 2 is moved in a direction along the side of the Tatami bed 3, the side of the Tatami bed 3 is obliquely cut by the inclined cutting blade 24, and the Tatami bed 2 is subjected to rim sewing. The sewing machine body 2 is provided with a sewing machine head portion 7 having a reference position-detecting portion 11 so as to be vertically moved, and disposed with an inclined cutting unit 6 having the inclined cutting blade 24 and an inclination reference portion 31 parallel to the cutting blade so as to be moved in a direction indicated by an arrow X. In a state where the sewing machine head portion 7 is moved in a vertical direction indicated by an arrow Z according to the thickness of the Tatami bed 2, the inclined cutting unit 6 is only required to be moved in a direction indicated by an arrow X, the inclination reference portion 31 corresponds to the reference position-detecting portion 11, and the positioning of the inclined cutting blade 24 is performed.
