An internal combustion engine (1) whose compression ratio is variable by moving a cylinder block and a crank case relative to each other in the axial direction of a cylinder is installed on a vehicle body member (29) at at least two sections that are a first mount section (32) provided on a transmission device and a second mount section (31) provided on the engine (1), the installation being made with the second mount section (31) mounted on the crank case (4).
