A method for processing a component input signal in a PC mode of a television is provided to automatically convert a mode into a component mode if an inputted video signal is a component signal, thereby solving a problem that an additional scaling work has to be done together with a PC signal. A method for processing a component input signal in a PC(Personal Computer) mode of a television comprises the following steps of: detecting a video signal inputted in the PC mode of the television(S10); determining whether the inputted video signal is a PC signal or a component signal according to whether there is a luminance sync signal is present or not among the detected video signals(S20); and automatically converting a mode into a component mode if the video signal is the component signal(S30).
