PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce a time when a storage is not accessible from a computer as much as possible in data migration because the computer stores the data in the storage and, when a use period of the data (a storage period) is longer than a device lifetime of the storage, the data need to be migrated to a new storage from the old one, and further to migrate data without any interruption. SOLUTION: In a computer system, in a first storage, a second storage area of a second storage is recognized as a virtual storage area of the first storage; a data-copy relation is established between the first storage area and the virtual storage area; the second storage area is recognized from the computer according to the data-copy relation; data are copied from the first storage area onto the virtual storage area according to the data-copy relation; and after the data copy is completed, a connection path is switched from the first storage area to the second storage area according to the data-copy relation.
